Polymer Clay

The Polymer Clay group creates colorful jewelry, figurines and other items from a special type of polymer-based clay.  The possible colors and shapes are endless.  You can even create items that look exactly like natural gemstones.  Polymer clay hardens at a much lower temperature than regular mineral clay, so it can be baked in a toaster oven to set.  It does not shrink as it hardens. Many people use a pasta machine to roll out uniform thicknesses of clay, along with various cutters and other tools to shape and add texture to the clay surface. Paints, inks and powders can also be used to add another dimension to your creations.

No prior experience is needed.  Simply join us at any of our regular meetings (see schedule at right) and we'll get you started.  But don't say we didn't
